
James Thomas Hanarhan Jr., 85, passed away Friday January 24 at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers after a prolonged illness. He was born October 20, 1928 to James and Mary Hanrahan. James grew up in Yonkers and graduated from Yonkers High School 1948. His nickname was “Moose” from the time he was in high school. He married Judith Hanusik October 6, 1962 at Most Holy Trinity Church in Yonkers. He worked as a mechanical engineer for over 40 years retiring in 1993 from Damiano Consulting. James enjoyed bowling and golfing. He would be out on the course either rain or shine. He also enjoyed watching football and looked forward to the season every year, his favorite team was Notre Dame. He was a long time member of the Hollow Athletic Club. He also was a communicant of St. Bartholomew’s Church Yonkers, New York for almost 50 years. He is survived by his wife Judith and his four children, his son Mark and his spouse Theresa, daughter Jill and her spouse William Rice, son Christopher and daughter Andrea. He is also survived by a brother John and his wife Helen as well as 4 grandchildren Christopher, Julia, Ryan and Elizabeth. He was pre-deceased by his “grand-dogs” Isabel and Sissy. Calling hours will be held Sunday 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Whalen and Ball Funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10am at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Yonkers.
