A lifelong resident of Yonkers, New York, Jim was born on August 17, 1943, to Andrew and Catherine (Loughlin) Kressman.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army, including two years stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he dedicated 40 years of his life to the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He genuinely loved his work and took great pride in serving the residents of his community throughout his long and distinguished career.
Jim found joy in many pursuits, especially horse racing, golf, and his lifelong love of dogs. He enjoyed spending time with his Niece, Dawn, and Great-Nephew, Nicholas in everything from nightly dinners, holidays, sports and everything in-between. Sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories with his entire family brought him tremendous happiness. Those special moments are memories that his family will cherish for a lifetime.
Above all else, he was a devoted family man whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. Family was always at the center of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. The impact he made on his family extended far beyond the title of Uncle; he was a source of strength, comfort, and unconditional love.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Catherine Kressman; his sisters, Dorothy, Jean, Joan DiMase (Rocco), and Joyce; and his brother, Bobby.
He is survived by his brother, Ron (Barbara); his sister, Carol; his devoted niece, Dawn; his great-nephew, Nicholas and fiancé Serena; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jim was truly one of a kind. Whether you knew him as Uncle Jim, Wiz, a dedicated mail carrier, a proud veteran, a golf enthusiast, a Villanova fan, or simply a good friend, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His kindness, unique personality, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty to family made him unforgettable.
Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His legacy of service, friendship, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Rest in peace, Uncle Jim. You were one of a kind, and there will never be another quite like you.
