James (Jimmy) Henry Snead Jr was born in Yonkers, New York on May 21, 1942 to Thelma and Lenward Burwell. James was the oldest of 9 siblings. Jimmy grew up in Yonkers and received his education in the Yonkers public school system. Jimmy mother and father, Thelma and Lenward predeceased him along with his siblings, Charles, Beverly Ann, Lenward and Joseph. Jimmy also fondly known as Junior started working for the Social Security Administration in 1963. Jimmy was drafted into the service in 1964 and after serving in the army for two years Jimmy was discharged in February 1966. After his discharged, Jimmy return to work for the Social Security Administration in Flushing New York. Jimmy worked for Social Security for 32 years and retired in 1995. Jimmy loved to travel abroad and took many vacations throughout the world. Later in life Jimmy started to have health problems and needed help going back and forth to the doctors from his loving sisters, Jacqueline Mitchell, Edith Edwards, and his nephew Michael Snead. Also, a very dear friend John helped to take care of Jimmy. Jimmy battled with health issues for several years and on Wednesday, May 27, Jimmy went home to Glory to be with the Lord and the rest of his family. James leaves to cherish his memory, his loving sisters, Sylvia Gonzales of Long Pond, PA, Saundra Eaddy of Yonkers, New York, Edith Edwards of Waterbury, Connecticut, Jacqueline Mitchell (Ron) of Long Pond, PA and one sister-in law, Mary Ellen Burwell of Long Pond, PA and a very dear friend John Pesick of the Bronx, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.
