Jean P. Gebert
March 17, 1929 – January 23, 2023

Jean Patricia Gebert (nee Condon), resident of Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of Yonkers, passed away on Monday morning, January 23, 2023, in Stuart, Florida.
She was 93 years old. She was born on March 17th, 1929, to Agnes and Richard Condon in Yonkers, where she was raised and attended St. Peters grade school and, later, Commerce High School. Jean lost her father at a young age and entered the workforce to help support the family. She had three sisters, Rita (Jewel), Gladys (Clark), Anita (Mooney), Richard, and Jack. Anita and Richard survive her.
Jean held various jobs, working as a telephone operator, a clerk at Woolworths, a clerk in the Westchester County’s District Attorney’s Office, and even for a short period, owned a dry cleaner.
Before retiring to Florida, Jean worked for years at the Westchester County DMV. Jean was also very active in politics, attaining the position of Yonkers First-Ward Leader.
Her hobbies included bowling and bingo. She enjoyed watching the NY Mets, and she loved trips to the casino.
On January 21, 1950, she married Norman Gebert in St. Peter's Church in Yonkers. Norman passed on May 3, 2006.
Jean is survived by her three sons, Bruce of Montrose, NY; Gordon of Greenwich, CT; and Warren of Port St. Lucie, Fl.
Her two grandsons, Eric, Paul, and great-grandson Evan, also survive her.
Graveside service will held at Kensico Cemetery on Friday January 27th at 1:30pm.
