Jean Ramsawak

Jean was born September 19, 1944, in Trinidad, West Indies, a daughter of the late Latchman and Phulbasia Lalchan. Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold Ramsawak; three daughters, Debbie, Rheutee, and Celia; and three sons, Richard, Rennison, and Renny. She was wonderfully devoted to her grandchildren Melissa, Stephen, Kathleen, Scott, Stephanie, Jason, Brandon, Nicky, Daniel, and Liam. She was a loving great grandmother to Tyler, Jane Marie, and Ayla. Jean had four brothers, Ramlochan, Basdeo, Mahadeo, and Sahadeo; and five sisters, Julie, Alena, Mena, Indrawattie, and Molly. She was a devout Christian and a homemaker after retirement. She enjoyed singing, craft sewing, cooking, and reading. Her favorite novel from childhood was Black Beauty. Jean also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021, and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the funeral home.
