She was born on September 4, 1932, to William and Julia Schulz Schlegel in Yonkers, where she was raised and educated. Joan was a former parishioner of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yonkers. All her life, she loved horses and had a particular fondness for Roy Rogers. Joan is survived by three sisters, Jean L. Treco (Mel) of Yorktown Heights, Gail Mulvaney of Yonkers, and Marilynn Lobbe of Garnerville, N.Y. The family thanks Marcia and the staff of CLC, who took outstanding care of her and her close friend, Donna. She was predeceased by two sisters, Julia and Barbara Schlegel. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday 9-10:30 am with a prayer service at 10:30. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
