Joan Sullivan

Joan M. Sullivan (nee Dratch) of Yonkers died on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at age 82. Born on August 21, 1930 to Michael and Anne (Mahoney) Dratch in Yonkers where she was raised and attended both St. Claire’s and Blessed Sacrament High School. Mrs. Sullivan worked as an Executive Assistant in the Pathology unit at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for over thirteen years; retiring in 2000. On October 22, 1955, she married Dennis J. Sullivan in our Lady of Rosary Church; he died in 2004. She is survived by her five children, Kevin Sullivan, Michael (Gina) Sullivan; Dennis (Karen) Sullivan, Jr., Bridget (J.P.) Delaney and Kathleen Sullivan. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; Conor, J.P., Katie, Molly, Shane, Amanda, Dean, Lauren and Michael. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Christ the King Church on Saturday, March 9th at 10:00 a.m. Committal Service at Ferncliff Chapel. Donations may be made in Joans name to the Yonkers Police Athletic League.
