John E. Castonguay

It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Castonguay born February 14, 1936 announce his passing on Friday April 15, 2016. John’s best friends were his three sons of whom he was so proud and of course his wife Brenda. John had a long illness with lots of therapy but he would always say his best therapy was visiting the guys at Nugents, and our family thanks them all. John was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and was a member of the 101st Army Reserve. He was a dedicated member of IBEW Local #3 for sixty years and the Electrical Shop Steward at the World Trade Center for 28 years. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his sister Joan Castonguay of Manhattan; and his sons John (Theresa) of Richboro, PA, Kevin (Nancy) of Issaquah,WA and Michael (Diane) of Massapequa, NY. John was also the proud grandfather of John Patrick, Kate, Connor, Megan, Traci, Eric, Brendan, Rachel and Nicole. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday April 20th at 9:30am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza #1615, New York, N.Y. 10122.
