
John Joseph Horrigan, a lifelong Yonkers resident passed peacefully on August 20, 2016 at the age of 54. John was a graduate of Archbishop Stepinac HS. Following graduation he began an apprenticeship that became his lifelong career as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 501 which later became Local 3. John was an avid reader and lifelong learner. He enjoyed his daily newspaper, fishing, crabbing and helping others. He was predeceased by his parents John and Eileen (Clohessy) Horrigan. He is survived by three sisters Barbara (Steven) Thiemann, Anne Marie (John) Menton both of Yonkers, Eileen (Steven) Drescher, niece Erin and nephew Andrew Drescher of Duanesburg, NY. In addition he is survived by many close cousins especially Bob, Kathleen, Mary Liz and Trish Florin of Old Lyme, CT and numerous friends. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave., Yonkers. John’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday with a Mass of the Christian Burial at Christ the King Church,(Sacred Heart Friars) 740 N. Broadway, Yonkers. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the American Heart Association.
