
John J. Vetrano, 90, died on June 13, 2012 as a result of complications. He was currently a resident of 511 Shippan Ave., Stamford, CT, a longtime resident of Yonkers and he had retired to Port St. Lucie, FL. John was a welder for the naval shipyards during the war, a retired John Hancock Life Insurance salesman of thirty five years and a former 4th Level Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine Angelini Vetrano and a daughter Angela. He leaves behind a daughter Valerie Bednar and her husband Mike, two granddaughters, Nicolette Bednar and Jennifer Bednar Mackin and her husband Christopher and a son Jack Vetrano and his family. He was the last of twelve brothers and sisters. Dozens of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins survive. At his request there will be no wake. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church on Saturday June 16th at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. Please do not send flowers; Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
