Joseph Molenda of Yonkers passed away peacefully at his home on July 21st surrounded by his family, after a valiant fight with kidney cancer. Born on January 5, 1946 in Swilcza, Poland, he immigrated to the United States in 1970 and settled in Yonkers, working multiple jobs at a time, at Phelps Dodge, Knight Motor Freight, Marcal Papers, then, eventually working for General Motors for over 30 years. He relocated from Yonkers after the plant closure to the Youngstown, OH plant in 1995 and remained there until 2011. He was a devoted, loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. The number of friends and family members he assisted over the years is too immense to count. Joseph will be missed dearly by many people in the United States and in Poland, as he was always the first one to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed travelling and completing Sudoku puzzles. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Janina (nee Szybisty) daughters, Donna (Michael) Didyk, Christine (Stanley) Zieminski, grandchildren, Steven, Natalia and Adam.
