Karen M. Huntley

She was born on June 4, 1953 to Owen and Katherine McCabe Huntley in Yonkers where she was raised and educated graduating from Sacred Heart Grade and High School. After high school, while working at St. John’s Riverside Hospital as a secretary in the Nuclear Medicine department, she obtained her Nuclear Medicine certification and became a licensed Nuclear Medicine Radiologic Technologist. Subsequently, Karen was promoted to Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine. She worked at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers for over forty years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Karen loved to travel, both cruises and land vacations, from Greece to Ireland and to the shores of Southern California to Cape Cod to Long Island and many stops in between. Karen is survived by two brothers, Bill Huntley of Port Chester, NY, and Keith Huntley of Bloomingdale, NJ and a sister Linda Huntley also of Bloomingdale. She is also survived by a nephew, Kyle Huntley of Bloomingdale. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday, January 3rd from 4-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday January 4th at 9:30 am. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Crematory.
