

Karl W. Wagner, Sr., a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday March 3, 2010. He was 63 years old. He was born on April 29, 1946 to R. Paul and Anna Bakowski Wagner in Yonkers where he was raised and educated graduating from Gorton High School. Mr. Wagner was a mechanic in gas construction for Con Edison in Eastview and Yonkers for thirty years until retirement in 2007. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam Era from 1966 to 1970. Mr. Wagner was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and was a member of the Con Ed Retirees and the Catholic Slovak Club in Yonkers. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. On April 8, 1972, he married Ann Buttacavoli in Most Holy Trinity Church in Yonkers. Mrs. Wagner survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Karl W. Wagner, Jr. and his wife, Kelly of Orlando, FL, two daughters, Jennifer Wagner of Yonkers and Rebecca Wagner of Kissimmee, FL, one brother, Allen Wagner of California and two sisters, Paula Masterson of Yonkers and Elsa Kubal of Scarsdale. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Anthony and Kierstin Wagner. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral on Thursday from 3-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Friday March 12th at 9:30 AM. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale.
