Lawrence G Hughes

Lawrence G Hughes, age 97, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, passed away on Thursday, July 28th at the age of 97. He was born in Yonkers, NY on April 9,1925. He served as a paratrooper in the army during WWII. In 1949 he married the love of his life Bernice Karlan. He is survived by his wife Bernice his daughters Kathy Hughes, Janet (Mario Notaro), Bernice (Frank Sanzo), Larry (Mary Joy Hughes). He is also survived by five granddaughters Lisa Nero, Melissa (Frank Vesuvio), AnnMarie (Steven Becker),Amanda (Jon Paul Di Bernardino) and Fallon Hughes. Also six great grandchildren Frankie, Kayla, Madison, Gabrielle, Isabella and Nicky. The family of Lawrence Hughes will be holding viewing hours at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home Tuesday August 2, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday August 3, 10:00am at St. Anthony's RC Church Yonkers. Interment to follow at The Cemetery of The Gate of Heaven.
