
Levern Gamble of Yonkers died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at age 73. Born on May 25, 1941 to Eva Gamble in Olanta, South Carolina. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents Sam and Edna Gamble. He worked as a bus driver for Liberty Lines for over twenty-five years; retiring in 1995. He also worked at general Motors in Tarrytown for almost ten years. On December 22, 1962 he married Mattie Watson in Foster Baptist Church in Tarrytown, she survives. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and a former member of a motorcycle club where he enjoyed his “Harley”. Besides his wife Mattie, he is survived by his two daughters; Doris (Gerard); Florence of Elmsford and Nicole (Edward) Rios of Yonkers and two grandsons; Robert and Daniel and his sister Carolyn Gamble and a special friend Willie Griffin and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service on Monday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
