

Louise A. Piltz (nee Salustri), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Monday June 27, 2016 at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She was 85 years old. She was born on November 1, 1930 to
David and Genoveffa Del Treste Salustri in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. Mrs. Piltz was a telephone operator for the Yonkers Public Schools for 18 years until her retirement in 1996. Previously, she was a telephone operator for the Herald Statesman for 10 years. She enjoyed making homemade macaroni with gravy for her family and friends, enjoyed classic country music including trivia about it and loved to play the guitar. She also collected cookbooks. “She loved anything to do with the kitchen and the table.” Mrs. Piltz is survived by two daughters, Genevieve Kellam and her husband Don of Poughkeepsie, and Louise Anne Piltz of Yonkers, a sister, Helen Cellio of Yonkers and a brother, Alex Salustri. She is also survived by her two grandsons, Peter Staiano and David Kellam. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Aldo Salustri. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday July 1st at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
