

Lucy T. (Urban) Spreer, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 21, 2013. She was 93 years old.
She was deeply devoted to her family. Over the years, family vacations, holidays, and family gatherings were filled with joy and laughter, creating an abundance of happy memories of the many times spent together.
Lucy was born on October 15, 1920 in Yonkers to Leonora and Anthony Urban. She attended Yonkers public schools. She married her beloved husband, Herbert Spreer, on February 16, 1944 at Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, in Yonkers, and they enjoyed 42 wonderful years together. They had three children, Lenore, Patricia and Ronald. Her husband predeceased her in 1986.
She spent many years working at Walker Color Labs in Yonkers and later Sportscraft in Bronxville. She was a longtime parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her three children, Lenore (Robert) Boytim, Patricia (Jack) Schurr and Ronald (Marianna) Spreer, six grandchildren, Lenore Carpinelli, Robert Boytim, Christina Schurr Covell, Kelsey Spreer, Steven Schurr and Brian Schurr and five great grandchildren, Mariory, Nicole, Robert, Elisabeth and Anna. She is also survived by her sister, Julia Carroll, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her brother Charles Urban and her sisters Josephine Amoruso and Stella Borash.
During her more than nine decades with us, Lucy touched many lives. She was deeply loved by the many that had the privilege to know her and she will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 26 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 27 at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 18 Trinity Plaza, Yonkers. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings.
