Lucy Valente

Lucy Valente (nee Castiglione), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Monday April 18, 2016 at Andrus on Hudson. She was 89 years old. She was born on July 5, 1926 to Angelo and Jennie DiDonato Castiglione in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. Lucy was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. On March 27, 1955, she married her loving husband, Raymond J. Valente in our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mr. Valente died on October 10, 1990. She is survived by one sister, Anna Bova of Yonkers and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Rudolph, Victor J., Constantine and Matthew Castiglione and four sisters, Marie Yacko, Carmella Adamovich, Faye DeMeo and Emily DeMeo. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Friday April 22nd at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
