Manuel Simoes, of Yonkers, New York, passed away on December 9, 2011 at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Maria Lucia; his only child, Ana, and her spouse, Tony; grandchildren Ashley and Christina, and her spouse, Chris; and great grandchildren Michael Riley and Jack Hunter.
Manuel was born in Portugal and immigrated to the United States in 1973. He was a retired employee of General Motors, active in the Portuguese community, and a long-time member of the Yonkers Portuguese-American Club. Manuel passed away at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family. Manuel was loved by all and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on December 11, 2011 from 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Monday, December 12th at 11AM. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Mausolem.
