Margaret M. Hickey

Margaret M. Hickey (nee Delaney), a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Thursday June 29, 2017 at her residence. She was 79 years old. She was born on February 6, 1938 to James and Alice McAleer Delaney in New York City where she was raised and educated. On June 20, 1959, she married her loving husband, Patrick J. Hickey in Good Shepherd Church in New York City. Mr. Hickey died in 2006. Survivors include two sons, Kevin Hickey and his wife Kathleen of Bloomingdale, N.J. and Brendan Hickey of Danbury, Ct., a daughter, Anne Marie Hickey of West Babylon, N.Y. and two sisters, Kathleen McGivern of Yonkers and Eileen Kelly of Howard Beach, Queens. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Conor, Liam, Declan and Shannon. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday 9-10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday July 5th at 11am. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley. Donations in her memory may be made to the N.Y.C. Fire Department Burn Center.
