She was born on March 3, 1937 to Rocco and Camille (Palmedesso) Colavito in the Bronx, New York. Mrs. Tan worked as an Assistant Accountant for Citi Bank in New York City for many years. On Sept. 7, 1980 she married Bing Tan; he died in 2014. Margherita is survived by her sister Julia Colavito and several nieces and nephews and special friends and caretakers Vincent and Kathleen Kosar. She was predeceased by her siblings Simone “Sammy”, Antonio “Tony” and Mary “Maria”. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 18th at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Yonkers Animal Shelter.
