Her husband, Stephen and immediate family were by her side throughout her final days. It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must now say goodbye to their beloved Maria.
Maria was born in Slupia, Poland in August 1948. She arrived in America with her father, Onufry and sister, Stephanie in May 1966. Maria completed her studies at Westchester Business Institute (White Plains) but discovered her true passion when she attended the School of Nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Yonkers). Upon graduating from nursing school, Maria was hired by St. Joseph’s Hospital where she worked as a nurse for the next 45 years. Maria truly loved her career in nursing. She was a very positive, caring person. Maria lived by the “TLC” motto, offering tender, loving care for each of her patients and made a really positive difference in each of their lives.
In addition to her husband Stephen, Maria is also survived by her nieces, Dr. Tatiana Terlecky and Christine Terlecky (and son Vincent) and her nephew Peter Terlecky, as well as her sister Stephanie. Maria is also survived by her loving cousin, “Jackie” who was like a sister, and a best friend Maria, as well as Jackie’s three sons Brad, Chris and Alex. Maria loved and cared for everyone in her family.
Stephen and Maria met on a dance floor and have shared a beautiful life, happily dancing throughout life together since their marriage in May 1980. My dearest Maria, thanks for the wonderful, happy memories of our life together!
