Marie A Steele

Marie Angela Steele died on Sunday May 24, 2015 at age 91. She was born on July 7, 1923 in NYC to Gaspar and Consuelo Smallwood Vaccarino. Marie graduated from Mount St. Ursula High School in 1940. On September 4, 1948 she married Vincent Steele in St. Theresa’s Church in the Bronx, he died in 2006. Marie was affiliated with both St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville and Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers. She is survived by her two daughters Marian (Richard) Murray and Loretta (James) Dratch, also two brothers Robert and Gerald Gasparri and 4 grandchildren Gregory (Gloria), Michael (Trina), Paul and Joseph, 2 great grandchildren Gregory and Franco. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday May 27th from 3-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 9:30am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marie’s name to Calvary Hospital 1740 Eastchester Road Bronx, NY.
