Marion was the youngest daughter born to Vincent and Julia Bordash on February 20, 1937, in Yonkers. She attended Holy Trinity School and Commerce High and was proud of her Slovak heritage. She was married at Holy Trinity Church on January 14, 1961 to her only love, Thomas. They settled in Dobbs Ferry, where Tom predeceased her in 1969.
Marion began a secretarial career with Carvel and then New York Central. While raising her children, she worked as a coder for Cooper Services in Hastings-on-Hudson. Later, Marion returned to Yonkers to be closer to her grandchildren.
For the last 2 years, she had been an active resident of Andrus on Hudson, attending Mass daily, participating in many events and making many dear friends.
Marion was the devoted mother to Kathleen (Michael) Fleming,Thomas (Kristina), and Carolyn (Matthew) Fleming. She was the beloved grandmother of Michael, Harry, Sam and Jack.
Predeceased by her siblings, Vincent, Julia, Elizabeth (Terry), Andrew, John, and Michael, Marion is survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Bordash and Irene Clark, and the Brackens, Robert, James, Eileen and Denise. Marion also left behind a host of nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
Her family is comforted to know that she is reunited with those of us who have gone before her, especially her long-missed husband Tom.
Due to the current circumstances, Marion will be laid to rest privately, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, on Saturday, April 25 and a memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Andrus on Hudson.
