A retired police officer with the Yonkers Police Department, Marissa dedicated her life to protecting others and serving her community with pride. She was a fierce advocate, a loyal friend, and a true protector, both on and off duty.
Marissa had a deep love for animals and was known for rescuing and caring for those others overlooked. Her home was always full of four-legged companions who knew they were safe and loved. She had a soft heart and a strength that held her family together through life’s storms.
To her brothers, Marissa wasn’t just a sister, she was more like a mother, a steady presence who showed up for every milestone, always putting others before herself. Her kindness, grit, and deep loyalty will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her two brothers, Kevin and William Ward, and her beloved son, Matthew Ward. She is predeceased by her parents (Robert Ward and Rosemary Combs) and her brother Harry Ward, whom she now joins.
