Mary Alice O'Connell

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 28, 1940 to Peter and Mary Anne (Casey) Heaney. Mary Alice graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at Andrus on Hudson Nursing Home and Ursuline Province Center in New Rochelle where she cared for the Nuns. She married Daniel A. O'Connell in Woodside, NY in 1963. Together the raised 3 children, Matthew, Deirdre (Robert) Sullivan and Daniel who passed away in 2015. Mary Alice enjoyed cooking and reading a good mystery novel, she was a dog lover and had a distinctive laugh that was loved by all. Later in life she grew fond of desserts of all kinds. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Daniel and her son Daniel.

A visitation for Mary Alice will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A religious ceremony will occur Friday, August 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. An interment will occur Friday, August 30, 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery, Sawmill River Road & Jackson Avenue, Hastings On Hudson, NY.
