

Mary Manning (nee Ferrara), a lifelong Yonkers resident, passed away on December 4, 2013 at Cabrini of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry. She was 90 years old. She was born on December 20, 1922 to Joseph and Mary Langella Ferrara in Yonkers where she was raised and educated attending P.S. 18 and Commerce High School. Mrs. Manning was a former parishioner of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of the Coyne Park Senior Citizens Group. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the movies. On October 31, 1941, she married her loving husband William Manning in Yonkers. He predeceased her in 2003. She is survived by two sons, William Manning and his wife Julie of Congers, and Ronald Manning and his wife Natalie of Yonkers. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren, Tricia DeMartino, Alyssa Manning and Michael Manning and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Ferrara, and her sister, Teresa Pugliese. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4PM & 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Cabrini of Westchester Nursing Home, 115 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Saturday December 7th at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
