Michael Ardovino Sr.

Passed away on August 28, 2012

Michael T. Ardovino, Sr. 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 28th. Born and raised in Yonkers, Mike was a drummer in the Holy Rosary Band and a graduate of Saunders High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a machinist for Otis Elevator for 43 years. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn, their 5 children; Barbara Lorio, Valerie (Victor) Rubeo, Karen Ardovino, Michael Ardovino, Jr., Janice Ardovino-Golia, his brother Joseph of Texas, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by 7 siblings. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and was loved very much. He was very handy and took pride in his home and providing help and expertise to family and friends. Mike was one of a kind.Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday September 1st at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, Westchester Office, 106 Broadway, White Plains, 10603. Marilyn, I am sorry for the passing of Mike. May you and your children find peace in the love that you all have shared. Mike is now at peace and in the Kingdom of the Lord without pain and suffering. With all the years that you have shared you will have so many exciting memerioes to help you all ease the pain of losing a great man.
