Michael G. Pregon, 80, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Thursday June 27, 2019 at the Grove at Valhalla.

He was born on July 4, 1938 to Alex and Mary Hrivnak Pregon in Yonkers where he was raised and educated. He attended local Yonkers schooling and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Iona College. Mr. Pregon was a district manager at the Social Security Administration in New York City and more recently in Yonkers for forty two years until his retirement in 2003. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962 and was stationed in Massachusetts. He was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Pregon was a fan of all sports but was an avid N.Y. Giant football and N.Y. Yankee fan. He enjoyed playing golf and trips to Empire City Casino. On October 9, 1965, he married his loving wife, Grace D’Introne in Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Yonkers. Mrs. Pregon survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael J. Pregon of Yonkers, two daughters, Lori Ford and her husband Peter (YPD) of Yonkers and Lisa Pregon also of Yonkers, two brothers, Steven R. Pregon and his wife, Laurel of Bronxville and Lawrence Pregon and his wife, Maureen of New Rochelle and his beloved uncle Steve Hrivnak. He is also survived by his adored grandson, Brandon and several loving nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Monday July 1st at 9:30am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
