Nancy A. Beniamino

Nancy A. Beniamino (nee Pistone), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Thursday September 6, 2012 at the Dobbs Ferry Pavillion of St. John’s Hospital. She was 90 years old. She was born on August 24, 1922 to Anthony and Angelina Fero Pistone in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. Mrs. Beniamino was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed cooking and her friends but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. On August 1, 1948, she married Louis N. Beniamino in Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Beniamino died on April 3, 2010. Survivors include two sons, Louis Beniamino and his wife Deborah of Port St. Lucie, FL and Donald Beniamino and his wife Denise of New Rochelle, two daughters, Ann Marie Sokolik and her husband Andrew of Tarrytown and Regina Salvatore of Yonkers and one brother Philip Pistone of Naples, FL. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Joseph, Gino, Kristina, Adam, Andrea, Tiana, Dana, Lorina Lee and Tyler and three great grandchildren, Sophia Grace, Logan and Graeme. She was pre-deceased by one brother, Augustine Pistone. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Monday September 10th at 10 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
