

She was born on April 13, 1933 to Jakub and Anna Mamrosz Kowalczyk in the village of Stawisza in the Lemko region of southeastern Poland. She was married to her beloved husband Joseph for 71 years. They came to America in 1962. They worked very hard to build a life for their family. Her love and focus was always on her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters: Anna Wheeler (Bruce) and Melania Hrabovsky (Oleh). She is with her sons John who passed in 1993 and Walter who passed in 1958. Not only was she a grandmother of six adoring grandchildren but she was also a great grandmother. Her grandchildren are: Nicholas, Michael, Jennifer, Brian, Ashley (Tyler) and Dimitri. Her great grandchildren are Nickayla and Liam Joeph. She loved them and they loved her. The grandchildren said she was the greatest Baba ever! The best pierogi maker! Lucky hot slot machine player! They laughed when she would say `oy boze boze`! She was funny, strong, determined, loved to sing, admired and revered by all. She will be missed!
She was predeceased by her father Jakub (1960), mother Anna (2012) , brother Walter (1992), brother John (2014). She has a surviving brother Andy (Mary), sisters-in-law Maria and Melanie and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday July 9, 2021 from 5:30pm till 8:00pm. Funeral service will be Saturday morning at 10:00am. Both will be at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 46 Seymour St., Yonkers, NY. Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, or the Parkinsons Association or the American Cancer Society.
