
Palma (Santini) Gentile passed away peacefully at the age of 64 on March 31, 2011 surrounded by Fabio her husband of forty-two years and three children. Loving, nurturing and dedicated mother of Patrizia (Dominick) Venturini, Giuseppe (Erica), and Sofia (Bart) Pannone; Loving Nonna to Valeria, Matthew, Nicholas and Andrew; devoted sister to Mirella Torturo; dear daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, cousin, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to all. Palma was born April 14, 1946 in Tagliacozzo, Italy to Emilio and Bice Santini. She married her childhood sweetheart Fabio and they immigrated to America to embark on a new journey and make a better life for themselves and family. They settled in Yonkers where they raised their family. She was a gentle, loving and caring person who never turned anyone away and welcomed everyone into her heart. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and being with family and friends. A devout Catholic, altruistic wife, mother and Nonna; she was the epitome of the biblical Good Samaritan. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Monday April 4th at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
