She was born April 13, 1949 to William and Dorothy (Ryan) Lawlor in Yonkers where she was raised, educated and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She worked for many years in the banking industry in customer support.
Faith was a major cornerstone of Pat’s life. She was a daily communicant, an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and served on several committees. She was a member of the activities committee, decorating committee, Friends of Fr. Solanus, Rosary Altar Society, Prayer Shawl, SHARE and the Parish Advisory Board. Pat was a Eucharistic Minister for over 30 years, both at Mass and in her ministry to the homebound of the parish. As a member of the Bereavement Committee, she served at over 1,000 funerals to help bring solace to grieving families.
When she wasn't at Sacred Heart, Pat was a beloved regular at Christ the King Church. They were also blessed by her compassion and generosity in serving others. When she was no longer able to come to church, she would watch Mass every day on any channel available.
Pat was always willing to reach out and offer her support to others. She was well known for helping people “get around” to appointments or to shop when they could no longer do so on their own.
Pat loved to drive and thought nothing of driving to Vermont to visit with a friend for a few days. She enjoyed bus trips to many destinations, especially with the Dehaven Group. Her favorite trip was Atlantic City but she was just as happy to spend some time at Empire Casino.
An avid sports fan, Pat enjoyed any and all sports, from Little League to the Pros. The Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Rangers, Notre Dame… she always had a game on. When there wasn't a game to watch, she tuned in to Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune or the Game Show Network.
Pat is survived by her brother John of Saugerties, NY, her niece, Christine and nephew, John Jr. She is also survived by her “chosen family”, Deanne and Alan May and their children, Will (Alysha), Gillian and Shannon. She will be dearly missed by her many friends, especially Eleanor Mitchell and Ann Zillitto, who were very close.
In her time at Adira Rehabilitation, many of the staff who cared for her became friends. We are forever grateful for the love and care she received during her four years there.
