So many incredible memories of all of us growing up together on Portland Place. I’m sure Pat and Ursula are catching up over some coffee.

35 years ago I had a very lonely and depressing Christmas Eve. Everyone in my family was either sick, too tired, or had other plans. I showed up to several relatives’ houses, including my childhood home in NYC with 100 dozen homemade cookies to share, and nobody wanted them, or me. I decided to go back to my cold apartment, where the boiler/heater was broken, and make myself a cup of tea and have some cookies before heading to sleep. On a whim, I decided to stop on the way back and share my cookies with my friend and coworker Linda Thompson and her family. I rang the bell and was warmly welcomed by her mom. I was made to feel as one of the family, and I stayed the evening. I will forever be grateful and will never forget Mrs Thompson’s kindness. Rest In Peace sweet woman.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to visit a short time ago. Having all our grade school pictures with me; and Linda sitting on the bed with Mom and the smiles through the memories were priceless. She smiled from ear to ear and we all laughed and shared our memories. A beautiful woman; a great Mom; Wife; Grandmother and Friend. Heaven has gained another Angel.
