Raymond W. Farrell

Raymond W. Farrell of Yonkers died on Friday, January 4, 2012 at age 90. Born on July 14, 1922 to Raymond M. and Julia (Doyle) Farrell in Yonkers Where he was raised and graduated from Gorton High School. He worked as a Tree Surgeon for this company (Farrell Tree Service) for over twenty five years retiring in the 1970’s. On August 4, 1946 he married Margaret Foley in Holy Rosary Church, she died in 2008. Mr. Farrell was a World War II Veteran. Serving in the Army-Air force and stationed in Texas and a Parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He is survived by his seven children; Gregory, William, Daniel, Matthew, Nanette Murray, Suzanne Farrell and Mary Jo Wenk. He is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and his three sisters; Margaret (Honey) Manning, Judith Farrell and Eileen McSpedon. He was predeceased by his brothers William, John, Arthur and Robert and his sisters Helen Grecco, Marion DeMuro and Joan Liber. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church on Monday, January 7th at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
