With profound sadness and hearts filled with love, we announce the passing of our beloved Raymond "Rio" Paul, who returned to Allah on June 26, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born on November 20, 1960, Raymond lived a life defined by love, generosity, service, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Bebi Fareeda Paul; his beloved sons, Rashad, Razal, and Rafan Paul; and his cherished grandchildren, Zayden C. Paul and Zariah A. Paul, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

Raymond was also blessed to be part of a large and loving family. He was a treasured brother, cousin, uncle, and friend to many, leaving behind countless relatives and loved ones whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering presence.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Raymond faithfully served his country from 1983 to 1986. The discipline, integrity, and selflessness he carried throughout his military service remained evident in every aspect of his life.

Following his service, Raymond founded Ray's Car Services, where he built more than a business—he built lasting relationships. Known for his dependability, professionalism, and warm personality, he earned the trust, admiration, and loyalty of clients who became lifelong friends. To so many, he was more than a driver; he was someone they looked forward to seeing, someone who always greeted them with a smile, a joke, or words of encouragement.

Those who knew Raymond knew a man whose presence could light up any room. He had an infectious laugh, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a heart that knew no limits. Family meant everything to him. Whether it was a birthday, wedding, holiday, graduation, or simple gathering, “Rio” was always there. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate the people he loved. If someone needed help—day or night—he was the first to arrive and often the last to leave. His generosity, loyalty, and willingness to put others before himself defined the man he was.

In December 2025, Raymond faced one of the greatest challenges of his life when he became seriously ill. Over the next six and a half months, he endured countless hospitalizations, treatments, setbacks, and moments of hope. Time and again, his health would improve, only to unexpectedly decline. Yet through every trial, Raymond remained the fighter everyone had always known. He faced each obstacle with remarkable courage, resilience, and determination, never giving up and never losing his spirit. His strength became an inspiration to all who stood beside him.

Although his earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will remain with us forever. His legacy lives on through his family, his friends, and the countless people whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing him.

May Allah (SWT) forgive Raymond's shortcomings, shower him with His infinite mercy, expand and illuminate his grave, and grant him the highest ranks of Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah grant patience, strength, and comfort to his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends during this time of immense loss.

An Islamic Prayer Service will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703 on Tuesday June 30, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Interment will take place at Mount Holiness Memorial Park, Cemetery Lane, Butler, NJ 07405.
