He was born on May 10, 1935 to Joseph John and Mary Huchko Kolba in Yonkers where he was raised and educated.
Robert was a maintenance man at Lincoln Hall, a youth organization in Somers, NY, for many years prior to his retirement. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, in Korea, at the end of the Korean War. Most recently, he was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church in Cary, NC and previously at St. Joseph’s Church in Somers.
On October 1, 1960, he married his loving wife, Dorothy Krysiak in Yonkers. Mrs. Kolba survives and lives in Cary, NC. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert George Kolba, Jr. of Somers, a daughter, Stephanie Cuomo and her husband Jerry of Raleigh, NC and a brother, Joseph Kolba of Yonkers. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Robert, Rose, Grace and Gennaro.
Robert’s family playfully referred to him as “the fun guy”. He enjoyed watching and collecting classic movies, especially Westerns. He was a N.Y. Giant and N.Y. Yankee fan, sticking with them through good times and bad. Robert will be missed by his family and friends.
