Robert Mcspedon

Robert T. McSpedon of Yonkers died on Saturday November 29, 2014 at the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. at age 81. He was born on June 27, 1933 to William and Elizabeth (Galvaile) McSpedon in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY where he was raised and graduated from Hastings HS and attended SUNY Farmingdale. Mr. McSpedon was an Operating Engineer for Local #137 in Westchester for over 40 years; retiring in 1995. On April 14, 1974 he married Frances Murphy in St. Paul’s Church in Yonkers, she died in 2011. Robert was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Third Order of Secular Franciscans; he was a US Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. Mr. McSpedon is survived by his 3 daughters Mary (Michael) Jorgenson of St. Petersburg, Fla; Elizabeth (Michael Larkin) McSpedon of Bethpage, LI and Ann McSpedon of Yonkers, NY. He is also survived by 5 grandsons; James, Jack, William, Sam and Leo, and his brother William McSpedon. He was predeceased by his brother Jack and sister Elizabeth (Betty) Petrone. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Church on Saturday December 6th at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
