

Roy H. Kallop, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Friday June 12, 2015 at Cabrini of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry. He was 92 years old. He was born on July 17, 1922 to Roy M. and Ruth Wood Kallop in Yonkers where he was raised and educated. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Columbia University in New York City. Mr. Kallop was an actuary and Vice President of the National Council for Compensation Insurance in New York City for 39 years until his retirement in 1987. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Petty Officer Third Class, was stationed in the Pacific and served on the ship William C. Miller and the Destroyer Escort # 259. He was a parishioner of the North Yonkers Community Church and was a member of the Spiritual Adventure Group at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Yonkers. He was a member of the Park Hill First Reformed Church Men’s Club and was a former leader of the Christian Endeavor with his wife Alice. On September 23, 1950, he married his loving wife, Alice Dillmann in the Park Hill First Reformed Church in Yonkers. Mrs. Kallop died on March 26, 2008. He is survived by one sister, Mildred Austin of Rochester, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, David Roy Kallop. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday 6-9pm. A funeral service will be held in the First Reformed Church, 18 Farragut Ave., Hastings on Hudson on Wednesday June 17th at 10am. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
