Sal was born on April 27, 1956 in New Rochelle, NY son of Antonio & Maria Ardino. He graduated New Rochelle High School in 1974. Sal married Joanne Halpin on February 11, 1979 and settled in Yonkers, NY, where together they raised their two sons before moving to New Rochelle in 2012. Sal spent a majority of his career cleaning corporate aircraft at Westchester County Airport. He was an avid bowler, volunteer little league coach and Cub Scout leader. His grandchildren were the world to him, and he never missed a milestone in their lives. Sal was beyond proud of his family and loved them with all his heart. Sal is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joanne; his mother Maria of New Rochelle; his son Mark (Erin) of Southbury, CT; his brother Dominick (Deborah), and sister Roseann (David) Schiavone of White Plains, NY; his brother Anthony of Stamford, CT; his beloved grandchildren Daniela & Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. Sal was predeceased by his father Antonio and his son Nicholas. Sal’s memory will be lovingly carried in the hearts of his family and his many loyal friends. We will always hear his voice. His memory will stay with us now whenever we sit around our tables and recall his warm cheer, his welcome embrace, and the joy he found in good company, a few stories and laughter that we hoped would never end. We will miss you, until we meet again. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 15, 2019 from 4pm-8pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Church, Yonkers, NY. Committal Service will follow at Ferncliff Crematory, Hartsdale, NY.
