Sandra C. Gorry, 79, died peacefully with Louie by her side on Monday, December 16, 2019.
Economist, landscape gardener, writer, entrepreneur, and world traveler, Mom inspired, encouraged and told everyone she loved to “live their dreams.” She nurtured and built a family that went far beyond her four children and the many dogs she rescued and cared for throughout her life. She is survived by three children, Brian, Carolyn, and Conner, and her beloved dog Louie. Mom was always happiest in her tree house overlooking Torsey Pond in Readfield Maine (“it doesn’t get better than this!” she’d always say) and was a dogged advocate for its preservation. In addition to being an active steward for the health of the pond and its ecosystem, she held several positions on the Board the Torsey Pond Association.
