

Sharron A. Charlton (nee Frawley), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Thursday March 17, 2016 at her residence. She was 72 years old. She was born on November 24, 1943 to James Frawley and Florence Frawley (nee Rooney) in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. She graduated from St. Peter’s Grade School and Sacred Heart High School. Mrs. Charlton was an executive secretary and Director of Catechumenate at Our Lady of Peace Church in New York City from 1993 until her retirement in July 2015. Previously, she was an executive secretary and Director of Religious Education at St. Francis Xavier Church in the Bronx from 1988 to 1993 and prior to that, she was employed by the Mill Hill Missionaries in Hartsdale from 1979 to 1989. She was a parishioner of Christ the King Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She loved dogs her whole life, enjoyed Irish music and had affiliations with several Irish organizations. In 1964, she married her loving husband, Bruce Charlton in St. Peter’s Church. Mr. Charlton died in November 1998. Survivors include three sons, Bruce Charlton and his wife, Theresa of Yonkers, Daniel Charlton and his significant other, Linda McCabe of Pennsylvania and Scott Charlton and his wife, Toni of Yonkers. She is also survived by six grandchildren, a daughter in law, Susan Charlton and a nephew, Kenny Frawley. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Charlton, a brother, Kenneth Frawley and a sister, Marion Tinen. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Saturday & Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Monday March 21st at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to either the local ASCPA or the Mill Hill Missionaries in Hartsdale.
