Susete Cunha

Susete Cunha of Yonkers passed away November 15th. after a long battle with cancer at the age of 73. She was a 47 year resident of Yonkers. Susete was born on November 19, 1940 in Lisbon, Portugal to Antonio Caetano and Maria Conceiao (Rego) dos Santos. On May 6, 1964 she married Jose Antonio Cunha in Fatima, Portugal. Jose predeceased her in 1975. Susete worked as a sewing machine operator for Local 98. She was a Yonkers resident since 1967 , and a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and belonged to the Nocturnal Adoration and the Prayer Shawl Group. Susete enjoyed knitting and sewing and playing Uno. She leaves behind her son Antonio Cunha (Annette) of Carmel,NY, daughter Maria Leonor da Silva (Tony)of Yonkers, brother Orlando dos Santos of Vero Beach,FL., brother Joao dos Santos of No.Carolina and 4 grandchildren, Cristina, Stefanie,Monica, and Anthony (AJ). Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday November 16th. from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday November 17th. at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in Portugal. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local American Cancer Society.
