Thomas Jakubek

Thomas Jakubek, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Saturday October 19, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. He was 52 years old. He was born on September 16, 1961 to Edward, Jr. and Olga Kachmar Jakubek in Yonkers where he was raised and attended local schools including Gorton High School. Mr. Jakubek was employed by the D.P.W. in Yonkers for fifteen years. Previously, he was employed by the N.Y. State Department of Transportation for twelve years. Mr. Jakubek was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. On December 10, 1994, he married Amber Crosby in Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Jakubek survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents Edward, Jr. and Olga Jakubek of Yonkers, two daughters, Christina and Melanie Jakubek both of Yonkers and one brother, William Jakubek of Virginia Beach, VA. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Jakubek, III. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday October 26th at 9:30 am. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale. Donations in his memory may be made to the Schools of the Sacred Heart, 34 Convent Ave., Yonkers, N.Y. 10703.
