Thomas E. Smith

Thomas was born on July 10, 1932, the son of William and Florence Smith. He was predeceased by his brothers William, Raymond and George.

He was a graduate of Saunders High School and served in the Army during the Korean conflict.

Thomas had a love of sports, going on cruises, gardening, and cooking. He was an avid baseball player and played with the Yonkers Glenners for many years.

Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather (Pop) and loved spending time with his family.

Thomas married the love of his life Patricia Persise at Sacred Heart Church on May 18, 1963.

They have three children: Timothy P. Smith, Kelly M. Rudowich (Douglas), and Margaret Swanson (Don).

He has four beloved grandsons: Thomas M. Swanson (Sara), William P. Rudowich, Martin J. Rudowich and Timothy P. Smith.

Donations to the Persise Family Burse or Hospice of Westchester County can be made.

Visiting Hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703 on Wednesday July 8, 2026 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Pl, Yonkers, NY 10703 on Wednesday July 8, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Interment will follow at St Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703.
