

She was born on July 16, 1928 to Anthony and Mary Maher DiDonato in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. Her education was interrupted during World War II so that she could support her family. However, at the age of seventy five, she returned to the Yonkers Public School continuing education program to work toward her high school diploma which she received with the help of her grandchildren. Mrs. DeMarco was an operator for N.Y. Telephone Co. in Yonkers for many years prior to her retirement in 1987. She was actively involved in the Hebrew Home for the Aged where she was a resident. Most recently, she had her red carpet debut in acting in a short film as a resident in a nursing home. She also developed a love for art and painting at the home. She enjoyed Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Empire City. On July 26, 1948, she married her loving husband, Gino DeMarco in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Yonkers. Mr. DeMarco died in 1994. She is survived by two sons, Robert DeMarco and his wife Zoni of Colts Neck, N.J. and Ronald DeMarco (Retired YFD) and his wife Carol of Eastchester, three daughters, Jeanne Molinaro and her husband Robert of Bethany Beach, DE, Lynn Graham and her husband David of Yonkers and Maureen Falcone and her husband Joseph of Pound Ridge, and one brother, Robert DiDonato of Yonkers. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear and longtime friends including Lucy Bisaccia. She was predeceased by a sister, Joan Genaro and her special longtime friend, Lucy Tutino. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church on Monday January 28th at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Hebrew Home for the Aged, 5901 Palisade Ave., Bronx, N.Y. 10471.
