Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, Wes attended Yonkers Public Schools and spent his life surrounded by the people and community he loved.
Wes was the beloved husband of Maryann (Ricapito), with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, Wes and Maryann built not only a loving family, but also a highly successful tire business, APOW. Through hard work, dedication, and their partnership, they created a business and a legacy they could be proud of.
Family was at the heart of Wes’s life. He loved being surrounded by the people he cared about, whether they were snowmobiling together, sitting around talking, laughing, or simply enjoying each other’s company. Wes had a larger-than-life personality and loved being the center of attention. And if there was a microphone nearby, you could be sure Wes would find it. He loved to talk, entertain, and make sure everyone was listening.
Wes also loved being on the water. Some of his happiest times were spent out on his pontoon boat, enjoying the outdoors and making memories with family and friends. He especially loved spending time at his Pennsylvania home, which he affectionately referred to as “up the country.” It was a special place where he could relax, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time doing what he loved with the people who mattered most.
Wes is survived by his three sons, Howie and his wife, Jenn; Christopher and his wife, Christine; and Michael and his partner, Jessica and his seven beloved grandchildren, Madison, Carter, Isabella, Gabriel, Derek, Dominic, and Danica.
Those who knew Wes will remember his unmistakable personality, his love of family, his stories and conversations, and the laughter he brought wherever he went. He lived life with a big personality and an even bigger heart, leaving behind countless memories that his family will treasure forever.
Wes leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, and love. His presence will be deeply missed by Maryann, his sons, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His voice may be quiet now, but the stories, laughter, and memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
