Price, William (Liam) Francis

William Francis Price, 83, went home to the Lord peacefully on December 29, 2013. He was born May 31, 1930 in Arklow County Wicklow, Ireland, to John Joseph Price and Mary Bridget (Delia) Kelly Price.

On November 30, 1957 he married Alyce Marie Stanton at the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers, NY.

He lived in Yonkers, NY from 1957 until 1993 when he retired and moved to Greenville, NY. In 2011, he moved to Hartsdale, NY. William was a Chief Operating Engineer for Silverstein Properties in Manhattan for over thirty years until retiring in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Alyce Marie Price of Hartsdale, a daughter, Margaret Mary Delia Price of the Bronx and two sons, James Kelly Price of the Bronx, and Brian Patrick Price of White Plains and his two granddaughters, Kelly Venecia Price of Yonkers and Jamie Katherine Price of the Bronx. He is also survived by two brothers, Joseph M. Price of Montrose, NY and Patrick Fergus Price of San Francisco, CA and a sister, Kathleen Newman of Dublin, Ireland. He was predeceased by two brothers, John (Jack) Gallagher and Kevin Gallagher both of Dublin, Ireland.

William was a former president of Division 1 Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and former Vice-President of the Westchester County AOH. During his retirement, he was very active in the Greenville Country Estates Homeowners Association and served on their Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Greenville Irish American Club and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the St. John the Baptist Food Pantry in Greenville, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 2-4pm or 7-9pm at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30am on Tuesday, December 31st at the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association at www.alz.org
