She was born on November 15, 1936, in Toronto, Canada, to Margaret and Cecil Rhodes. The oldest of seven girls, Virginia grew up surrounded by the love and companionship of her sisters. Her early years were filled with the bonds of family that would shape her life and values.
Virginia raised two children as well as worked many years in Accounting. She retired from Hughes Aircraft in Fullerton, but continued taking on temporary accounting positions for other businesses after retirement. Music was a cornerstone of Virginia’s life—a passion that brought joy not only to herself but also to everyone around her. A talented singer with a lifelong love for music, she was an enthusiastic member of numerous church choirs over the years. Her ukulele playing became a hallmark of family gatherings, along with her lovable harmonizing. She always had a song in her head, and would often just sing whatever came to mind. These musical moments remain treasured memories for all who were fortunate enough to experience them.
