Allen Bradley Cartwright

Allen Bradley Cartwright, 68, of Lewes, DE, formerly of York, PA, passed away at home on May 9, 2025. Allen was born on March 6, 1957, in York, PA, to the late Hassel and Elouise Cartwright. He shared 45 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cheryl. Together they raised two sons, Clayton and Derek, who were the pride of his life. He was also a proud grandfather to Quinlyn and Kelsey, who brought him much joy.

Allen was a 1975 graduate of Dallastown Area High School and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in mechanical engineering from York College. He dedicated 41 years of service to BAE Systems, retiring in 2016. In 2018, he and Cheryl moved to Lewes, DE, to enjoy retirement by the coast.

Allen had a deep love for Penn State football, holding season tickets for many years, and never missed an opportunity to watch a game. He also looked forward to March Madness every year, enthusiastically following the tournament with bracket in hand.

Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Cartwright; son Clayton Cartwright, his wife Missy and granddaughters Quinlyn and Kelsey; son Derek Cartwright; brother Larry Cartwright and his wife Ann; sister Susan Kolor, her husband Michael, nephew Michael and niece Samantha.

Service for Allen was on May 30, 2025 at Mount Rose Cemetery, York PA. The family appreciates all that attended the service and celebration of life for Allen.
